Rashid serves as the university medical officer at the Islamic university in Uganda. He holds a masters degree of Public Health and Bachelors of Medicine and surgery from Makerere University.
Rashid served as an Ebola Virus disease Consultant in the Ebola Virus Disease preparedness project in the districts of south western Uganda under the management sciences for health (MSH) Organization sponsored by The United States Agency for International Development as an independent agency of the (USAID).
Before joining IUIU, he served as a locum Doctor at Mulago National referral hospital, Kampala West Medical Centre, Mengo Doctors clinic and Vine medical Centre. In addition to clinical practiced. Dr.Naziru is also an administrator, a lecturer/a researcher and a community worker.
He is the in charge and medical supretendant of IUIU health centre, seating on top management committees of the University including the university executive board, the university management committee and he is the secretary of the health unit management committee of the University Health Centre and part time lecturer at the faculty of health sciences in the department of public health and the faculty of management studies specializing in epidemiology, infectious disease and health service management.
Rashid is a researcher and publisher with a number of publications in the international, regional and local journals on tropical disease including hepatitis B infections, Covid -19, malaria and others. Member of the governing committee of the Muslim students association of Uganda (MSAU) an organization which he served as a president for two years (2012 – 2014).he is the secretary of the Rubirzi district Muslim Community and finally he is one of the founder Directors of the Mayuge Institute for global health sciences research and innovation limited (MI)
He is a Son to the Late Mr. Rashid Kishizaki Ben and Mrs. Kobusingye Aisyah of Bunyaruguru Rubirzi District, married to Miss Nakayiza Faridah whom they have three children Alinda Faswiiha, Ankunda Rashaad, and Ahabwe Naziihah.
